• Barracuda Bash
Treasureman's annual Barracuda Bash is an event held in January each year to benefit the local fishermen, where everyone involved can have some fun, catch some 'cuda, and drink some cerveza. Check out this website for tournament details.
• Handline Fishing Tournament
If you can't make it to the island in January, Jeri and Steve organize a Handline Fishing Tournament in February. This link will take you to their Isla Trip website, where you will find details on the upcoming tournament.

• Dancing Cactus Mexico Message BoardThis is a new board where the community of Jerry and Anne's Mexico board has relocated. Jerry and Anne's Mexico was a very nice site with a really friendly message board, whose membership is primarily Pacific coasters. If you have questions about destinations on the west coast, this is the place to go.

Speaking of money, anyone traveling to a foreign country needs a currency converter, and xe.com has an easy to use converter for any country's currency.

In Mexico, traveling by bus can sometimes be the best way to get from point a to b. Here is a link to Ticketbus, where you will find schedules and fares for busses all over the country.

Ok, you've planned your trip, but it isn't for weeks. You're obsessed with the adult version of "are we there yet?" From this site you can download a clever little countdown clock so you can always know how long before your vacation.
Mayan Culture and History
• Mexico.udg.mxHere is an interesting site about the Mayan Culture with some really nice illustrations. The history section stops in the 16th century, but the whole site is very nicely presented, and quite interesting and informative.

The Crystalinks website contains an interesting and informative section on Mayan history and culture. Crystalinks is a metaphysical site, and while I am not really into that, I did really like this section. The history page covers not only ancient, but also post Columbian to 20th century, including the Mayan revolution of the mid 19th to early 20th century.
